Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$69.41 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.99 billion, or 11.51% of the market's turnover. There were 621 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.33 billion and HK$460.09 million, or 16.67% and 5.76% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 15.69% and 43.25% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$428.23 million and HK$383.19 million of short sales, accounting for 5.36% and 4.79% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 17.73% and 11.93% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.28, or 1.52%, to HK$18.69. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$1.06, or 1.62%, to HK$66.46. MEITUAN-W rose HK$4.9, or 4.32% to HK$118.4. TENCENT jumped HK$7.2, or 1.99%, to HK$368.6.
