[ET Net News Agency, 12 May 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$130.25
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.79 billion, or 11.35% of the market's
turnover. There were 662 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.46 billion and HK$1.28 billion, or
9.88% and 8.64% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
22.71% and 41.07% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$1.04 billion and HK$820.11 million of
short sales, accounting for 7.04% and 5.55% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.22% and 9.19% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.64, or 0.75%, to HK$86.02. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.095, or
1.87%, to HK$5.175. BABA-W rose HK$2.3, or 1.86% to HK$125.9. XIAOMI-W declined by
HK$1.75, or 3.41%, to HK$49.6.
