[ET Net News Agency, 8 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$91.75
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$9.86 billion, or 10.75% of the market's
turnover. There were 641 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.17 billion and HK$690.39 million, or
11.82% and 7% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
5.55% and 30.95% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$632.36 million and HK$423
million of short sales, accounting for 6.41% and 4.29% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.05% and 7.44% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$11, or 2.9%, to HK$368.6. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$1.1, or 1.53%,
to HK$70.96. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.31, or 1.58% to HK$19.32. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$1.6,
or 4.69%, to HK$32.55.
