[ET Net News Agency, 7 January 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$205.72 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$29.43 billion, or 14.31% of the
market's turnover. There were 671 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.47 billion and HK$3.71
billion, or 15.19% and 12.6% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 8.16% and 22.57% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$2.46 billion and HK$1.08 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.36% and 3.67% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.63% and 32.23% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$29.8, or 7.28%, to HK$379.6. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.25, or
1.26%, to HK$19.63. XIAOMI-W fell HK$2.15, or 5.92% to HK$34.15. CSOP HS TECH declined by
HK$0.036, or 0.84%, to HK$4.274.
