[ET Net News Agency, 27 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$85.6 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$9.13 billion, or 10.66% of the
market's turnover. There were 640 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$806.54 million and HK$772.92
million, or 8.84% and 8.47% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 23.62% and 12.09% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$536.67 million and HK$456.41 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.88% and 5% of the total short sales values respectively. The
transactions represented 17.56% and 7.36% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.02, or 0.1%, to HK$20.28. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$1.8, or
5.5%, to HK$34.55. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.02, or 0.03% to HK$74.56. SMIC jumped HK$2.15, or
7.38%, to HK$31.3.
